Hi, my name is Michael. I am a fifth grader at the Academy for Ideal Education which is located in Washington D.C. The Ideal School is on Gallatin Street and the Alternative school is on Riggs Road. I go to the Ideal School because it is for children in grades Pre-k through 5th grade. The older kids go to the school on Riggs Road.

Our parents can drop us off at 7:30 in the morning. The school is open until 6 PM. We begin every morning with meditation to prepare us for the day. Then we go to our class and we study math, English, reading, writing, spelling, history, geography, science, drama, art, dancing, drumming, physical education and other activities.

Parents like the school because we have small class sizes and individualized instruction. They say this helps us to learn better. They also like the curriculum my school has. My teachers are nice. When we do bad things they correct us. Mama Lashonda has been teaching here the longest. She is so smart. She knows all the little games that we try to play. So we never get away with anything because she will always catch us. If you come to visit the school you will meet with Mama Joan. Or if you call she is usually the one people talk to. She is called an administrative assistant. She is a nice lady who both plays with us and punishes us. All of the teachers like her a lot.

I really like my school a lot. Everyday is a good day here. We learn many different things and learning here is fun. I hope you will decide to come to my school.
